Update

Quick Update:

The first week of school went great! It is definitely clear to me that I am teaching in a special setting. These eight kids of mine have such different needs, way more than I was expecting. Each child is completely different and almost every one has some sort of a special need (high sensory needs, attachment disorders, learning disabilities, emotional disorders, speech impediments, etc) This is a special circumstance. Please pray for my patience level every day and that God can use me to help these precious kids learn about Him and learn about academics!

Nathan and I got to substitute house parent for one night last week. It was very sweet to be able to put a little 3 and 4 year old to bed. They were great for us and we really enjoyed being a part of that aspect of the kid’s lives.

Every Thursday night is an all women's prayer meeting on the "ranch." I am so excited to connect with godly women as we pray for each other! Nathan and a few of the other guys here will help babysit while all of the women attend the meeting.

Nathan finished up the concrete floor and is doing a few more this week with another brigade team that is coming. Concrete floors are a huge blessing to the people living on the mountain. Nathan is picking up Spanish quickly! He and a Honduran grounds worker, named Pablo David, work together every day. Pablo David only speaks Spanish and has been training Nathan while teaching him some Spanish! As Nathan goes into the community on the mountain, he is able to speak with local Honduran people and we pray that this can be an incredible witnessing opportunity. He played soccer with the kids the other day for two hours!

Being here has been exhausting, wonderful, powerful, fulfilling, stressful, tasking, abnormal, and incredibly spiritual all rolled into one big ball of emotions. We are excited to be here, and are reminded every day of God's faithfulness through you all. Thank you for what you are doing here, thank you for your prayers. Thank you for being a part of our lives!
